Sunna deForest has practiced yoga for over twenty years. When she moved from Alaska to Pennsylvania in 2007, it was a natural step to enroll in a yoga teacher training. In 2009, Sunna received her 300-hour yoga teacher certification from Todd Norian, who is based out of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She is registered through Yoga Alliance as RYT200. Sunna’s teaching style encourages people to come to the mat as they are to meet themselves as if for the first time, providing opportunities to deeply connect with one’s inner light while cultivating practical resiliency.

Gabby found Buti Yoga when it was introduced to her from her college friend, Jennifer Treece. After practicing Buti Yoga for 2 years and dropping all postpartum pregnancy weight, she went to the closest certification in 2016. Since becoming certified, Gabby has added 200 hour RYT, Advanced Buti, Prenatal, Buti DEEP yoga and Kidding Around Yoga certifications to round out her skillset. It is Gabby’s life mission to lead women on the path to self love and acceptance. To learn to love the body parts she once hated, to drop the lies from body dysmorphia and step into her power to rise up and live in her truth, unapologetically, everyday. Gabby has shared her message at Yoga in the Wilds Festival, Yoga Fest State College, Boxcar Brew Works, Girl Scouts, Summer Souls*tice Retreat and Visions & Vinyasa. A landlocked mermaid, Gabby lives in DuBois, PA with her husband, two children and their two kitty companions. She currently teaches at SoL Wellness & Gathering Space in DuBois, PA and Organic Mechanics in St. Marys, PA.

Theresa has studied closely with TriYoga founder Yogini Kaliji for over 20 years and has taught yoga since 1996 in the US, India and Venezuela. Formally trained with a Master’s degree in Education, her passion for TriYoga and loving presence invite others into an awareness that brings a fuller flow to life.

My current Vedic Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork/Massage Practitioner’s Certification training at the Vedic Conservatory (VC) is with Yoga Christy Thorndill, a certified VC Teacher. I plan to continue my studies with Christy pursuing for becoming a Certified VC Teacher. Born and brought up mostly in Calcutta (now Kolkata), India, I have been raised during my schooling and undergraduate college years at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama campuses for more than 11 years – age 10+ until 22+ years. Here in the US, I started practicing yogasana regularly since May 2016, completing the 300-hour Teacher Training in May 2017 at the Lila Yoga Institute (a Yoga Alliance RYS) under the mentorship of Erica Kaufman. Since August 2017, I have been teaching All Levels Yogasana classes along with Pranayama and Sun-Salutations at the Lila Yoga Studios, State College, PA. I am a certified Reiki Master/Teacher and Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher and practise Qigong.

Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork/Massage: An Intro Teaser

A hands-on workshop to introduce some basics for Vedic Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork/Massage in the Nuad Borarn style as patronized at the Vedic Conservatory (https://www.vedicconservatory.com/).

* Introduction and pairing up [~5 mins] * Demo + follow along [~ 25 mins] — individual A from each pair practicing and providing the massage to individual B
* Demo + follow along [~ 25 mins] — individuals A and B within a pair switch roles
* Closing [~5 mins]

This workshop is open to ALL. No prior skills in Thai Bodywork is necessary. Anyone authentically interested in experiencing a taste of this ancient healing art is cordially welcome. Clothes-on throughout the duration with massage-mats laid on the floor/ground/grass. Massage providers will mostly use their hands and legs as the primary tools. No use of external ingredients, such as oil, etc.

Participants may come with partners as pairs. Although bringing a partner is NOT required to participate in the workshop, please come with an open mind to pair up with someone, and make a new friend who will connect with you — physically, energetically, therapeutically, and beyond.

* Comfortable and stretchable clothing
* To provide some cushioning underneath the recipient’s body:
* bring a cushioned mattress, if you have one (approx. dimension: 4′ (W) x ~6′ (L) x 2″-3″ (H)). One mattress for a pair suffices.
* otherwise, bring one or more cushioned yoga-mats / blankets / etc.
* Bring some water to stay hydrated.
* Bring a journal if you would like to take notes.
* Avoid consuming heavy food since at least 40-45 mins prior to the start of the workshop.
* Invite your authentic Self and curious spirits. Let’s discover and experience some healing touch.

Sue has spent her entire career studying and working to promote health and wellness through movement, with a focus on the mind/body connection. She is a graduate of Penn State University and Goucher College. For over 3 decades, Sue has been serving individuals with her gifts of facilitating integrative and innovative well-being classes including classes in Chair Dancing, Pilates Fundamentals, embodied anatomy, and Mindfulness in Motion. Sue has a private body work practice and is the co-creator/facilitator of the REfresh Wellness Program at Juniper Village in State College, PA. She contributes as well to CALM2, a mindfulness research project of the College of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State University.

Jenn Henry-Dashem, RYT500. Jenn completed her teacher training at the Lotus Seed School of Yoga in Portland, Oregon. She co-owned and operated Karma Farm Yoga and Movement Studio in Washington State and taught yoga and yogic philosophy at Whitman College. She now practices locally at Yoga in State College. Jenn is a certified massage therapist and Reiki Master. She performs in the State College-based duo, Anchor&Arrow. Movement, breath and sound create the holy trinity in Jenn’s life. She is forever a loyal student and lover of the yogic journey and its teachings.

I am a breast cancer survivor and yoga helped me find peace and acceptance in my life. I am always amazed at the power of yoga and how it can change us in so many ways from the inside out. For the past 6 months she has been living the yoga dream, teaching in multiple studios and learning as much as she can from her new yoga community in the Gulf Coast of Florida. Amy has been practicing Reiki and Meditation for over 5 years, and has taught yoga for 2 years. She is so excited to give back to the community of State College who helped her become who she is today!
